African Olivewood

(Olea Europaea) The heartwood is brown to rich yellowish brown, streaked with dark brown lines. Sapwood is creamy yellow or gold color and is often interlaced with dark stripes giving the wood a marbled appearance.

Apricot

(Prunus Armeniaca) Light brown with a variation of dark lines, color changes to a deep rich brown over time.

 

 

Birdseye Maple

(Acer Macrophylum) Creamy white to brown, birdseye figure. Gets it's name from the "eyes" that are found in the grain.

 

 

Bocote

(Cordia Gerascanthus) Color is a creamy brown, with somewhat wavy, black stripes.

Canary Wood

(Centrolobium Paraense) The heartwood is yellow or orange, typically streaked with "rainbow-hued" colors, often mixed with shades of red or brown. Sapwood is yellow.

Cocobolo

(Dalbergua Retusa) Heartwood color varies from bright orange to deep red, with attractive variegated stripes of yellow, orange and black.

(Buchenavia Capitata) Heartwood is reddish-brown, with variegated lines of brown and/or black.

Holly

(Ilex Aquifolium) Holly is a fine, even grain wood . Being a small tree, Holly blanks will often times include small knots or discolorations due to limbs

Honduras Redheart

(Sickingia Salvadorense) Also known as Chac Te Koke, this wood varies from dark to light red with dark streaks.

 

Kingwood

(Dalbergia Cearensis) Heartwood has variegated colors with a background of rich violet brown, shading almost to black, with streaks of black, brown, violet and sometimes golden yellow.  From Brazil.

Leopardwood

(Grevilliea Robusta) Heartwood is dark reddish brown with light yellow sapwood. Very prominent rays producing a very distinct figure in the wood. From Australia.

 

Marblewood

(Marmaroxylon Racemosum) The heartwood is pale brown with purplish to black streaks, sapwood is lighter in color.  From South America

 

Mun Ebony

(Diospyrus Mun) One of the more stable ebonies ranging from dark greenish black with creamy lines to a wild sky scape figure

Oregon Myrtlewood

(Umbellularia Californica) Light to dark brown, with occasional areas of olive-brown or blackish.

 

Padauk

(Pterocarpus Soyauxii) Orange red color ages to purple brown. From Africa

 

Pau Amarello

(Euxylophora Paraensis) Straight to slightly interlocked grain, very fine even texture. From South

 

Pau Ferro

(Machaerium sp) Heartwood is reddish brown to dark violet brown, with intermittent black streaks.  From Brazil.

 

Purpleheart

(Peltogyne Venosa) Color is a dull brown when freshly cut, but quickly turns purple upon exposure to sunlight.  From Central & South America.

 

Satine

(Brosimum Rubescens) Heartwood is light red brown or chestnut brown with greenish golden ribbon figure. Hard and dense with medium to fine texture.  From Central & South America.

 

Silver Maple

(Acer Saccharinum) Creamy white and straight grained.

 

Tulipwood

(Dalbergia decipularis) Color is a pinkish-yellow with very prominent stripes ranging from pink to dark red.

Walnut

(Juglans nigra) Beautiful dark brown color with a blackish striped figure

White Ash

(Fraxinus Pennsylvanica) Grown in Utah, this dense white ash has a beautiful grain pattern and is ideal for platters or shallow bowls. It is creamy white with occasional streaks of gray or brown, the heartwood is sometimes light brown

 

Zebrawood

(Microberlinia Brazzavillensis) Light, golden yellow with dark brown streaks and veining.

From Western Africa

Ziricote

(Cordia dodecandra)

Heartwood which has various shades of black with irregular wavy black streaks, lines and variations.
